Hon Gilbert Olanya, the Member of Parliament for Kilak South in Amuru district, has criticized Hon Anthony Akol, accusing him of spreading false allegations. The accusations were centered on Hon Olanya and Hon Odonga Otto supposedly demanding over 1.5 billion Ugandan shillings from the state house in relation to the Lakang Land issue in Amuru district.

Hon Gilbert Olanya has countered these claims by shedding light on Hon Akol Anthony's character, portraying him as someone excessively focused on money. Olanya further elaborated that Akol's obsession with money is so intense that he becomes restless whenever finances are involved. This has led people in Northern Uganda to view Akol as a source of financial trouble, akin to a "money virus."

Olanya also brought up a specific incident where he alleged that MP Anthony Akol accepted money from a woman who was battling cancer at Lacor Hospital who is the true land owner in lakang where Hon. Akol Anthony got her money and has failed to reimburse the funds even after the woman's unfortunate demise due to cancer.

Moreover, Hon Gilbert Olanya urged the Acholi community to thoroughly understand the true nature of those around them. He emphasized that this understanding is crucial as they approach the year 2026, hinting at upcoming elections.

These allegations against Hon Anthony Akol, including the claim of raising money from Bomah Hotel Gulu, have been reportedly verified by DS R media.

16 years now walking hand in hand with different leaders of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). Hon. has revealed that the current flaws in Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) will soon come to an end.

These he says cannot be compared to the numerous storm the party experienced in the past. Even then they came to pass, these too equally will surely go to rest, Amere Said.

He said this while appearing on Wan Luo TV, Rupiny Tin morning show program with Pat Robert LARUBI, where he appealed to all Ugandans who still look at FDC as the real opposition party in Uganda with a national touch to hold onto the nob and not to be shaken by the current rant orchestrated by the struggle for money and power.
