‘Bed of Thorns’ holds a unique place in Ugandan cinema history as the first Ugandan movie to have an all-female crew.

The movie, centered around gender based violence, brings to life the reality of a very sensitive subject within the social fabric of Uganda told through a uniquely female lens offering perspectives and insights often overlooked in mainstream cinema.

From directing and cinematography to sound design and editing, a team of women, led by renowned actress and film director and producer Eleanor Nabwiso, took the helm to bring the film and its hard-hitting message to life.

‘Bed of Thorns’ is not just a captivating cinematic experience; it is a testament to the power of female collaboration and storytelling.
