Deforestation is the removal and destruction of forests, leading to significant ecological disruption and contributing to climate change. It releases stored CO₂, decreases our planet’s carbon capture capacity, alters natural water cycles, and raises temperatures, all of which exacerbate global warming.

To tackle this pressing issue, we can implement strategies such as:
Reforestation: Planting trees to restore lost forests.
Sustainable Management: Ensuring responsible forestry practices.
Agroforestry: Integrating trees into agricultural systems for better biodiversity.
Conservation Policies: Protecting existing forests and ecosystems.

Additionally, respecting Indigenous peoples’ rights and promoting awareness of sustainable products are crucial for long-term success.

Why is it happening? Our planet naturally traps some heat like a giant greenhouse. But climate scientists have showed that humas are responsible for all the global heating for over 200 years.
Burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas releases greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. These gases trap more heat than usual, causing Earth to warm. Catch us next week on how you can help reduce this.
