All of these pictures were taken on the same day in Uganda on our last trip to the pearl of Africa!

The day included a visit to a botanical gardens, staying on the shores of lake Victoria and a visit to a local fish market close by!

Just a reminder this is our day 1 of our all inclusive best of Uganda 14 day trip and sets the standard of animal encounters very high for the rest of the trip! Luckily, in our experience, Uganda delivers on all accounts

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a birds “hair” being described as wheat before!

This is the grey crowned crane and is the national bird of Uganda, making its way onto their national flag!

This guy is extremely habituated at one of the lodges through trust and safety, although I don’t know it’s back story it’s certainly not a fully wild bird!

A Constant rainbow 🌈

Murchison Falls in Murchison Falls National Park is the most powerful waterfall in the world 🌍, where the entire Nile River is forced through a narrow 7-meter gorge before exploding 40+ meters down into the Devil’s Cauldron.

This immense pressure creates a permanent mist cloud rising above the falls… and with Uganda’s strong sunlight, that mist produces a near-constant rainbow 🌈 , one of the most magical natural phenomena you’ll witness.

📍 Fun fact: This is the point where the Victoria Nile transitions into the Albert Nile, making it not just visually spectacular, but geographically significant too.

If you’re planning an African safari, Murchison Falls is an absolute must-see for wildlife, landscapes, and unforgettable photography moments.
