Its not necessarily blackmail. The people who subscribe to Rotary Clubs are not from heaven but rather from the very communities we live in . Rotary doesn't recruit from heaven . There are quite a few inconsiderable cases where people end up in relationships that may seem contrary to morals of "some" people who either subscribe to Rotary and others who do not . It must be noted that immoral as they may be regarded (by those who chose to regard them) these relationships may not necessarily be regarded as unlawful in the Laws of our Land.

Our attention should be drawn to Rotary's major initiatives and resultant achievements in Uganda around Rotary's conceived Seven Areas of Focus ;

1. Disease Prevention &Treatment
2. Maternal &Child Health
3. Peace & Conflict Resolution
4. Environmental Protection and promotion
5. Community Economic Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation
6. Water and Sanitation
7. Basic Education & Literacy

Rotary in Uganda attracts directly over $4 millions worth of grants each financial year for the last close to 12 years this is in addition to what Ritary Clubs lobby independently through their partnerships abroad and local fundraising from Rotarians in Uganda. These grants are implemented by the individual Rotary Clubs in Uganda (over 130 Clubs) in their respective communities.

For general consideration, I will point out some of the most outshining projects in the Country;

1. *The Mengo Hospital Rotary Blood Bank* which was launched by The Rotary International President John F. Germ and Prime Minister of Uganda Dr.Rukahana Rugunda in 2017 which has greatly contributed to the availability of Blood in this country by availing over 2000 units and blood monthly hence bridging the gap in blood scarcity. Its only second to Nakasero Blood Bank .

2. *Rotary Cancer Program at Nsambya Hospital* which was launched a couple of years through an annual marathon (started in 2011) organized by rotarians in Kampala and of late other parts of the country to raise funds for cancer interventions among which is the completed cancer ward at St Francis hospital, Nsambya.
The ward that was first handed to the hospital by Rotary in 2017 provides services that include cancer checkups, detection and treatment. Now, Rotarians are working towards making it accessible to all Ugandans at no cost.
And recently Rotary embarked on the construction of bunkers for linear accelerator treatment machines at Nsambya hospital , a project that will cost almost 15bn Uganda Shillings (construction work already ongoing)

3. *Rotary USAID project*

Uganda has leavraged over $2USD from the Rotary Foundation to improve access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services in schools, health facilities, and communities. By leveraging local resources in Uganda, over 400 communities have been positively impacted in the already ongoing project which may even be a foundation to further Rotary investments in Uganda.

4. Rotary has build hospitals and school in many parts of this country to supplement Government of Uganda efforts ..among the many of them include

a) A Shs 2 billion hospital in Mukono District. The hospital was constructed on a 10-acre piece of land at Ngandu, Mukono on Jinja Road by the Rotary Club of Kampala North in the year 2021.
b) Rotary maternity facility at Mukono hospital valued at $70,000
c)Rotary built a modern 170-bed hospital, the Rotary Hospital (RH), whose aim is to improve access to quality and affordable health care services for at least 700,000 residents in Mukono and the surrounding areas. The hospital also provides training facilities for the Uganda Christian University based in Mukono town other institutions of health education
d) Dagye Health Center in Kalangala Ssese Islands

The above projects are only highlights and do not even constitute 10% of Rotary's most valued investment in Uganda since Rotary's inception in Uganda on 20th May, 1957.

Rotary's vibrancy,contribution and relevance in Uganda as well as the Uganda Rotary Fraternity position Globally is quite remarkable. We must note that Rotary International is a 1.3 million member organisation with one of the world's most prestigious 4 star charity and endowed foundation (The Rotary Foundation in excess of $1.5bn networth). Rotary is now in the middle of the 17th year of her second century of existence; having been established on February 23 1905.
It should be noted that Uganda's Sam Owori, who had been elected to serve as President of Rotary International in 2018-19, would have been the second African Rotary member after Johnathan B. Majiyagbe of the Rotary club of Kano in Nigeria to assume the highestposition of Leadership in Rotary. This speaks of the high ranking profile of Uganda in the view of an organisation that has lived the test of time.

Captain Ibrahim Traore was appointed as president of Burkina Faso on Wednesday, according to an official statement, after the West African country's second coup in less than nine months.

Missing Pastor Jengo resurfaces, reveals why he went into “hiding”

The late pastor Augustine Yiga’s son and senior pastor of Revival Church in Kawaala, Pastor Andrew Jengo, who reportedly went missing at Revival Church for weeks, has resurfaced.

Last week, Jengo’s assistant pastor, Phillip Mukisa, came to the media and revealed that churchgoers of Revival Church in Kawaala were worried about pastor Jengo’s whereabouts after he had spent two weeks without coming to church.

However, last evening, Jengo resurfaced. Speaking during an interview on local television, Pastor Jengo claimed that he has been taking a rest.

I was advised to take a break, and as a human being, I decided to take a simple rest, but I have been around,” said Jengo.

When further questioned why he did not tell his assistant and followers, Jengo claimed that he only told his close friends and relatives.

Meanwhile, ABS TV, a station under Revival Church has been in contention since Yiga died.

In July this year, Kojja Kimbowa sued pastor Jengo and ABS TV management and demanded Shs621 million and he injected in the station for the time he acted as the shadow CEO. He further demanded that they return his three cars, a Subaru, Mercedez Benz, and Toureg.

Bobi Wine’s Camp Gives 200k as Condolence to Lady Grace’s Family

Last week, the entertainment industry lost musician Lady Grace who perished in a motor accident.

She was laid to rest at the end of last week, and she was eulogized as a talented musician who will be missed.

Different musicians sent in their condolences messages and Bobi Wine’s immediate friend and partner, Nubian Li delivered cash amounting to 200,000 which was collected by the people at Fire Records (Bobi Wine’s studio) where lady Grace recorded her music.

This amount left some mourners mumbling, claiming it was too little to come from Bobi Wine’s camp.

List of Uganda’s full army Generals under Museveni’s regime.

1.Yoweri Museveni(retired)

He is Ugandan president and commander-in-Chief of armed forces. He and 42 others, with 27 guns launched an armed rebellion against the government of former President Obote in 1981. He captured power in 1986 and has been president since then.

2.Salim Saleh

He is a special presidential advisor on defence affairs. In 1976, at the age of 16, he joined his brother Yoweri Museveni in exile in Tanzania and participated in the 1979 Kagera war that brought an end Amin regime. During the war, he fought under FRONASA, commanded by his brother Yoweri Museveni. He joined NRA in late 1981, months after NRA had attacked Kabamba. During the bush war, Gen. Saleh commanded the mobile brigade that fought many and fierce battles against government troops. He was army commander for a year, from 1988-89 before he was sacked and replaced by Mugisha Muntu.

3. Elly Tumwine(deceased)

He shot the first bullet on February 6, 1981 during the foiled attack on Kabamba barracks that marked the beginning of the five-year NRA guerilla war in Luwero. Gen. Tumwine is a member of parliament representing UPDF. He was the first army commander after NRA captured power in 1986. He did cadet in Munduli in 1979.

4.David Sejusa(retired)

Gen. Sejusa(Tinyefunza) He joined Uganda police after the University but defected joined NRA in 1981. He was the Coordinator of intelligence agencies before fleeing to exile in London around 2014. While in exile he claimed there were plans to assassinate some senior government and military officials perceived to be against purported scheme by President Musevni to have his son who was by then Brig Muhoozi Kainerugaba to replace him as president. He later came back and apologized for those remarks and went underground.

5. Aronda Nyakairima(deceased)

Gen Aronda was the Internal Affairs ministerat his death. He served as Chief of Defence Forces from 2003-2013. Before 2003, he had commanded Operation Iron Fist in Northern Uganda and South Sudan. Gen Aronda also worked as the intelligence officer in Presidential Protection Unit, now Special Forces Command. He joined NRA in 1982 so
