Breaking News: One died, 15 injured along the Nile River attack

On 14th-November-2025, an incident took place at Kotlier checkpoint along the Nile River, a boat carrying traders from Bor heading to Payinjiar County went under attacked by a group of criminals moving along the coast, leaving 15 injured and one person dead from injuries. The deceased is believed to have come from Rumbek and was heading to Cinekuet checkpoint on a business mission.

According to the report, several traders went missing and were dispersed by the criminals who were believed to have come from Lake State. The Search for the remaining missing persons is ongoing.

The wounded innocent traders are now on their way to Jonglei State, using speedboats offered by the good citizens of Rumbek especially those in Chambeek.
