It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mzee Kamuron Saul of Kapkwoton Clan, Greater Munarya (Ngasire), a former LC3 Chairman of Sipi, Chema, and Munarya Sub-counties.

He served for 5 terms.

Mzee Kamuron passed away after a prolonged illness while receiving treatment at Victoria Hospital, Bukoto.

Further burial arrangements will be communicated later.

Senior public servant, Hon. Sabila Badru Arapswale, has been elected the new District Speaker for Kapchorwa. He made it unopposed.

In July 202I, in the past regime, Badru was appointed as the Deputy Vice Chairperson of Kapchorwa District by Ms Everlyne Kubarika.
However, in a twist of events, Ms Kubarika sacked him, having served for less than two months.

Badru holds a lot of experience in local governance. He is more than 35 years older than the new chairperson, Vincent Chelimo.
