UPF Greater Bushenyi Bids Farewell to Veteran PRO SSP Martial Tumusiime
The Uganda Police Force (UPF) Greater Bushenyi region bid a fond farewell to its former Public Relations Officer (PRO), SSP Martial Tumusiime, as he retired from active service on May 3, 2025. Tumusiime served the UPF for an impressive 36 years, with 13 of those years spent as PRO for the Greater Bushenyi region.
During the handover ceremony, Tumusiime expressed gratitude to the police force and the community for their support throughout his career. He advised his colleagues to avoid corruption, be time managers, and love the force. "This is the right time to retire and go home because I served the forces to my rib," he said.
ASP Tayebwa Apollo has taken over as the acting PRO, pending the appointment of a new spokesperson by the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Tayebwa expressed his readiness to work with all departments and continue the good work of his predecessor.
RPC Greater Bushenyi, SSP Godfrey Akiriya witnessed the handover and officially appointed ASP Tayebwa Apollo to resume office. "With the power entrusted to me, I appoint Mr. Tayebwa Apollo to resume the office as I await the IGP's appointment of a new PRO," SSP Akirirya said.
DPC Bushenyi District, ASP Okum Agrey, praised SSP Tumusiime for his exemplary service, describing him as a good time manager. "We will miss your services, Afande," ASP Agrey said.
Tumusiime thanked the media for their collaboration during his tenure and urged them to continue working smoothly with the new officer.
The Greater Bushenyi region wishes SSP Martial Tumusiime a happy retirement, and ASP Tayebwa Apollo all the best in his new role.
