Eddy Kenzo Sets New Record in Uganda

Ever since Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo's 'Sitya Loss' went viral, his music has been doing well both locally and internationally.

Kenzo has become one of the few artistes in Uganda who has made a name on the international level.

Eddy Kenzo who enjoys a huge following in Uganda, and the entire continent has secured yet another milestone, being the first Ugandan to hit one million subscribers on YouTube; an American online video-sharing platform.

He will be walking away with the gold-plated play button that has been compared with the Hollywood walk of fame but for YouTube.

There are three categories of the YouTube Creator awards; Silver Creator Award (100,000+ subscribers), Gold Creator Award (1million+subscribers) and Diamond Creator Award (10million+ subscribers).

An excited Eddy Kenzo broke the news on his social media pages expressing gratitude to his fans in the comment section for the overwhelming love.

Due to the restrictions in movement, Eddy Kenzo is unable to get his hands on the gold plated brass.

This one of the many milestones Eddy Kenzo has attained.

Two months ago, he secured top spot in YouTube's top artistes in Uganda for the month of February.

His song 'Tweyagale' topped the list of most played song in Africa according to Google, a parent company of American video platform, YouTube.

PASTOR AUGUSTINE IGA OF REVIVAL CHURCH KAMPALA ARRESTED

The Uganda Police Force has arrested Pastor Augustine Iga of Revival Church Kawala, Rubaga Division in Kampala over false utterances and passing harmful propaganda relating to the current Corona Virus (COVID 19) pandemic in the country.

The Pastor is suspected to have said, in a video recording branded by BBS TV, that the Corona Virus is not in Uganda. The video that went viral undermines government efforts in fighting the COVID 19 pandemic and exposes the public to dangers of laxity in observing the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health on its control and prevention.

The action of Pastor Iga promotes the spread of the COVID 19 and can therefore be considered as a direct attack on the people of the Republic of Uganda. Therefore, the suspect, who is currently detained at Old Kampala Police Station, will be interviewed to establish the motive behind the dangerous utterances.

We appeal to the public to desist from making false or alarming utterances concerning COVID 19 and disregard information not from authorized government structures.
