Police in Kampala Metropolitan have arrested a suspected robber targeting bank customers using motorcycles.

The suspect, identified as Wagaba Hussen, a 27-year-old male adult from Kayunga in Wakiso District, was arrested today, 06 march , 2026, following an attempted robbery in Najeera.

The victim, Nakawomne Deborah, aged 27, had withdrawn UGX 21 million from a bank in Ntinda and hired a boda boda to return home to Buwaate On reaching Najeera, a few meters from the police station opposite Stabex, another motorcycle approached at high speed , and the passenger grabbed her bag.

The victim raised an alarm, prompting police officers nearby to respond immediately. One suspect who was riding the motorcycle managed to escape due to heavy traffic, which made it unsafe for officers to engage. However, the suspect who grabbed the bag was arrested, and the UGX 21 million was recovered.

The suspect is currently detained at Najjera Police Station as investigations continue and efforts are underway to arrest the accomplice.

A young girl of only 25 years is currently fighting for her life. For the past two months, she has been battling a severe illness that has left her family completely devastated. Her condition has been getting worse every day, and it has reached a point where she even passes blood when she goes to the toilet.

Her family has tried everything within their power taking her to hospitals and even trying herbal medicine hoping that she would get better. Sadly, nothing has worked so far.

She has now been rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, but the doctors need more tests and treatment that the family can no longer afford. Yesterday, her mother called while crying, helpless and not knowing what else to do.

Right now, this young sister needs our help to stay alive. 🙏
