Dear Government of the Republic of Uganda and in particular the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution, mindful of the sub judice rule and in reference to this charge sheet if true, Alternative Digitalk wishes to respond and or inform the public as follows;

That Alternative Digitalk is a well established online media organization that respects freedom of speech and expression but most importantly an organization that is allergic to Dis and Misinformation in our ex*****on of work because authenticity is a principal we hold too dear since our inception.

Even when we know that the trial of our Head of Programs hasn't commenced, we can not look on as the DPP circulates lies against our organization. As such, we challenge the DPP and Uganda Police's forensic department to produce evidence of our organization's social media posts, videos or statements declaring the death of the individual as is on the charge sheet.

As an organization, we are committed to working with whoever is against mis and disinformation but also too committed beyond imagination to fight for the freedom of speech and expression at any cost.

With this background, we consider this charge sheet deceitful, misleading and malicious against our most senior journalist who has worked for his profession for over 15 years of active media practice & excellence and the reputation of our organization.

There is no doubt that the state is persecuting Mr. Arnold Mukose and Alternative Digitalk as an organization following the successful constitutional petition with other petitioners against the computer Misuse (Amendment) Act 2022.

“29th. 03. 2026.

Dear Countrymen,

Following the abduction of my friend Mukose Arnold but most importantly the threats against my life, it’s likely that by the time you find this letter I will be alone in dark and cold basement undergoing torture by our mighty revolutionary and professional UPDF at my worst case scenario OR the fair case scenario I will be on the run in an attempt to prolong my killing by those who will live forever!
But whatever the case I am a strong believer in fate because this world isn’t my home and neither is it to them.

To say; if they kill me at 40 as a result of speaking truth to power, I will have lived 7 years older as compared to our lord Jesus Christ who lived for 33 yrs but still lives with us. If I am killed at 40, I will have lived 7 years longer than Fred Rwigema who was killed at 33 too. If I am killed at 40, I will have lived 5 years longer than Patrice Lumumba who was killed at 35. Should they kill me at 40, still I will have 1 year longer than Martin Luther King whose truth cost his life at 39 years.

For some reason it’s not about our longevity that matters but rather what we leave behind for the time we live before we leave.

As of today I have failed to convince my soul to keep quiet against injustices. But failed.

As a matter of fact Uganda is too big and enough for us to fit and live if it wasn’t for the greedy few. I live you with Rev 21:4 “And do not fear those who kill the body but can not kill the soul”
