Understanding the Uganda communication commission ban on the sale of airtime cards.

All aimed at a bigger plan to curtail the free flow of information through some form of financial control to incapacitate and dominate citizens in a modern day fraud scheme with telecom companies.

The correlation of loading airtime to committing a crime is negligible because the standard to making a call is having enough credit whether or not one has intent to commit a crime, during the sim card registration exercise, the standard qualification was the national ID or a passport for foreigners and other documents for refugees provided by the office of the prime minister,those who did not meet the required level of verification where presumably switched off owing to a spat of crimes using mobile phones and unregistered sim cards which was a reasonable thing to do on the basis that each simcard was attached to a national ID,if the same basis was used to introduce other changes to the registration processes and include an untimely ban on the sale of airtime cards,which security features do airtime cards have that the national IDs don't?

Befor that is now the famous social media tax compelling every user to a form of tax ,these all rotate around airtime and data with a recent survey that indicates an increase in Ugandans owning smart phones ,increased data usage and consumption of online content mean business to telecom companies which are all motivated by profits, unless through a mobile money agent,a rough estimation of loading airtime on a mobile money account is shs. 5000.if a sample of 500people bought airtime with that fixed price,it would be 250 times more profitable than the same number of people buying airtime at shs.500,so it becomes easy to understand who gains what and how when the time comes that people can no longer buy airtime from outlets.

The social and economic implications of such a move will be immense given the many people from across the country side where mobile money services are not that accessible or many people would not even have an idea about how such a process works.

Utilities such as water,electricity or even airtime determine our expenditure based priorities, what is enough is what we use depending on the needs at a time,its delicate and wholly unfair to put conditions to even the cheapest and essential of commodities that even ordinary people would ably afford.

CITIZENS MEH.....FOREIGNERS YES

Ironic as it sounds acquiring a new africell simcard in Uganda for foreigners is as easy as A,B,C but walking to the moon and back for citizens,yes the national identification card,the top most recommendation for telecom companies in Uganda to ensure simcard registration also does not apply but the case is different for foreigners who can use their passports while refugees can use their documents got from the office of the prime minister to acquire simcards according to africell Uganda and as directed by the Uganda communication commission.

The sell of africell simcards is still on a halt until an official statement from the ucc,essentially now owning asimcard from any network in Uganda is a deal breaker,an extra ordinary achievement and not only a mile stone but also more of hitting a juke pot if its registered.

The list of priorities from the ucc now stipulates that the sale of simcards will only resume when it finalises the establishment of API connectivity with nira uganda for instant national ID verification.

Meanwhile as citizens continue to lag behind the priority list on almost everything, this shouldn't be a big deal when you go to an africell shop with an Indian or Chinese friend only to return with a fully registered africell simcard and you don't,just sit down and appreciate the complacency coined in the phrase "Uganda Zabbu..." and conclude theirfore that until arsene Wenger leaves,there is nothing he will add to that arsenal team.

In the dot com era befor and after

The world we once knew significantly changed people,whether we know how or not,one thing for sure it has we establish shorter relationships with random people and end as briefly as they started,technology now propels us and due to its immediacy we bypass rational process as barraging through all sorts of information it offers becomes monotonous ,our thoughts become crowded with opinions not of our own but of others about what success,beauty,sex and romance ought to be,reality becomes blurred with a thin line from illusions and so enhances the need to be like everyone else,we lose ourselves.

After texts replaced actual human voices,connections are more calculated than natural and aimed at taking if not gaining something socially connected and practically alone in the dot com era
Just how you feel spending as little as a week away from social media and how it drains to keep up with the image powerless even when you try because it is so strong a force,addiction
Detached from the reality grows the need to feed the addiction and as much as the illusion persists reality drifts further.
Before people where more practical,moved out to find and talk to people,recreational activities were great that world full of risk made life interesting but then dating is as easy as installing a dating app,what happened to the street vibe where a boy took on a girl head on in the hand to hand love combat people.

WHY SOME LAZY UGANDANS SHOULD STOP PICKING ON DR.BESIGYE.

In the year 1980 after the general elections,war broke out on the basis that the elections where rigged by the UPC government basing on this fact established not by the DP whose victory was robbed but by members of the then UPM who had won only one parliamentary seat of hon.Crispus kiyonga,never the less this was never challenged in the courts of law neither was this stand a court declaration but the claim was legitimate and received collective response and support,in 1986 against a back ground of constitutional instability, the struggle for better leadership was a success and so we moved with the movement system with a promise of a fundamental change.

Along the way came changes and after three decades still the same history is unfolding yet again in our own eyes.

The November 27th events in the parliament of Uganda and the lifting of the term limits in 2005 are no different than the then Obote pigeon hall constitution, the assault on the kingdom of Buganda,the reign of outlaws,the increasing wave of criminality and corruption are as valid today as was in the 70s and 80s.

What happened on the 19th of December was a national shame one whose consequences both in the short and long run every Ugandan will shoulder because where there is conflict,there is no social order and one cannot cast blame without providing better alternatives, so the underlying causes will persist until they are addressed not by picking on individuals but collectively as a society irrespective of the frontiers.

To change the course of a country takes not only one individual so restricting the debate of national concerns along party lines,religion, tribes or personalities or even groups is simply idle talk.

The leadership of local council committees continue to be a subject of debate together with the legality in which they operate after nearly 20yrs without elections and with no reasonable pay from government with court suspending the recently organised LC1 elections ,incumbents have continuously fueled land conflicts and LC1 chairman Ganagwa Experito of kyengera,wakimese zone is no different, he has continuously engaged in falsifying of land agreements,selling LC1 stamps and appending them to illegal land documents in the absence of the owners,conniving with brokers to proclaim peoples' land as sold and many other forms of criminal nature.

Ganagwa has many pending court cases at Nsangi sub county all related to land fraud and recently still with a man only identified as Muhwezi Ashiraf (on the right)in a broad day light syndicate with the chairman claim to have paid shs.80 million for a particular plot of land with school premises by forging signatures and attaching stamps to the falsified documents.

"The transaction regarding the said land is merely day light robbery and the claims fictious so it will be treated with outmost agency as required by law." One of our saurces who preffered anonymity added.

Power

The rate of energy to output,to hold advantage over another and irrespective of the conditions at hand,to possess, control,protect and dominate is the powersequence,parents,friends,family,,bosses,teachers and mostly lovers all have power over us but regulate it according to how much is appropriate.

Power changes us in the first stages using only few of the steps in the power sequence and later seek to use all of them,the more we get is the more we take,in order to take more and more pushes us to the darkest corners to a place so far many don't ever get to return,where all principles of logic and common sense become irrelevant.

Power and its most regrettable trait acts in dispossessing ordinary people and to their decrement all at the expense of those who wild it,the media mostly concentrates in towns,power seeks to stay close or control the media and to survive becomes the ultimate goal,it further changes us into monsters,it breeds hatred,conflict,it enslaves us and becomes a force of its own that constantly must be protected with brute force,we then consequently seek to become masters over other people's actions through the interplay of benefits,ambition ,greed achieved through means of threats and coercion.

To establish safety measures helps us remain with in the proper exercise of our reason in order not to cause our end,maneuvers only just look clever and can only win simple minds.

Never underestimate the power of a dreamer,the motivation to change and the capacity to try,we are often what we constantly think of,you can't go beyond the limitations of your thoughts and certainly can't exceed the realm of little expectations,many call it attitude, others hope and many "the will" but one thing is for sure nothing is more powerful than the stubbornness to try and the motivation of a powerful dreamer.

Many are going to laugh you dreams off when they say you couldn't, it doesn't matter where,how or who you are,if there is any reason you think you can or can't do something,you are right but that is the kind of power you and only you hold and not any other,many people are timid,frustrated and freeze during the most defining moments of their life so they seek to project their own inability to do certain things by pulling you down,complacency breeds mediocrity,don't be

SLAY QUEENS?MAY BE,MAY BE NOT

Some call it a trend and perhaps a new way to life,where all that matters is today and nothing else,to actually live as if the world was ending and not having to deal with the daily everyday life constraints but what these people are after is to believe in something,to live for something and to try and give some meaning to their life through either craving intimacy,attention or a gnawing need to feel loved and cared for,to feel the void.

So their low self esteem is hidden in possessing or seeking to posses material things or even people in order not to feel alone or to create an image of what reality would be but actually isn't,to try and do things that transcend basic morality,their character is leaving in self denial so their failure to see things for what they truly are makes their attitude and behavior to boarder close to insanity.

Its a copying mechanism from society's demands and the monotony of having to live like everyone hence they initiate to differ,their ways are errant and beyond physical attributes nothing makes sense about their life ,maybe they had a difficult time while growing up or dreams and hopes that are shattered on the tough rocks and experiences of reality or maybe an ideal on how to be treated but daily life repeatedly offers the direct opposite so they seek to change not only the society but an entire generation while indirectly seeking to change themselves so to feel like standing for a more higher purpose.

Where the adverse effects of trying to incorporate the diverse technology upgrades with a rather slow and constrained roles of daily life meets improvising and behavior change,then in between is a place for the slay queens,the true victims of modernity sidelined by technology up grades.

THEN I SAW

When a young man Edson Nasasira 22yrs was shot at from close range and when the authorities concerned claimed it was a Stone that must have gone through the region close to his nose and out at the back of his head,then I remembered when it all begun.

The Igara west mp hon.rapheal magyezi stood with sureties to table the age limit bill and I further recall when the same bill was gazetted in the Ugandan gazette and this was reported about first by the observer and sparked off debate.

I saw after in what was an assault on Parliament, the bill was tabled for the first reading and consequently referred the electorate for consultations in which so many people so far have sustained serious injuries from MPs to the people they represent to even the police officers who should protect the later amidst executing orders ,life is lost ,the mix up in violence does not discriminate,then I saw that if we all can become victims of bad politics then who is winning?

"...…we are the masters of violence but ours is discipline and strategic......" Sad,the president said recently and with groups like boda boda 2010 publicly coming out to declare violence should be a point of concern when our cognitive abilities and our entire thought making process are tuned towards violence,irresponsible utterances and comments,errant language and rude talk means the situation will only intensify with time.

With the hall marks of violence written all over this bill and the forces propelling these events is how we have reached at this point.

The way forward there for is well explained in the various writings of the various pops

Communication processes can not go on without the factors that define the behavior of a social,political and economic system.
