ETIHAD AIRWAYS STRENGTHENS OPERATIONS IN EAST AFRICA WITH LAUNCH OF DAILY PASSENGER SERVICE TO ENTEBBE



Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will build upon the success of its Entebbe cargo flights with the launch of a new passenger service to the East African city.


Daily flights will be operated to Entebbe International Airport from 1 May 2015, using a two-class Airbus A320 aircraft with 16 Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats.



The route will provide business and leisure travellers with a direct connection between Entebbe in Central Uganda and Etihad Airways’ Abu Dhabi hub, together with convenient onward flights to the GCC region, Europe, Indian subcontinent, North Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia.

US aircraft to lead hunt for LRA leader Joseph Kony
The US is sending military aircraft as well as an increased number of troops to Uganda to assist in the hunt for fugitive LRA leader Joseph Kony. Kony who is believed to be holed up in either DRC or the Central African Republic is wanted by the ICC along with his senior commanders for war crimes. The White House will send CV-22 Osprey aircraft and support personnel to assist the UPDF in this mission. Look out for this week's issue of The Notice Newspaper for details.
