Création Africa Lagos provided an invigorating atmosphere. A diverse group of creatives from across the continent shared ideas, stories and inspiration that lingered long after the event concluded. The African creative space was thriving. From film and live action to animation, games, virtual reality and augmented reality and digital fashion, the creativity was boundless. Connecting with delegations and teams from across the continent further enhanced the experience. The Ugandan delegation, comprising Derrick Kibisi, Emmanuel and Lorna (Keepers of The Forest), Andrew Ahuura, Richard Musinguzi, Paula Kyabaggu and Moses Akii, demonstrated exceptional talent.A key takeaway was the realisation that creativity alone is insufficient. Passion and a business mindset are essential for sustained growth and the preservation of creative work. This sentiment is widely shared within the industry. But overall… it was just inspiring. Being surrounded by people who love what they do, who want to build something bigger, who believe in storytelling, that’s the part that stays with you.
