Some from our recent impact documentation for a client in Yumbe. Most of the work happens before the actual shoot, mind you!
From choosing the right location, briefing and preparing the subject (the person you are going to interview), to checking that all the equipment is working, the ‘easiest’ part, at least according to both our Head of Content Development and the Multimedia Lead as well, is the shooting itself.
And then there's the editing part, which according to them, most clients never fact into the production time, mainly because they never see the hundreds of hours poured into this part. This got a chuckle out of all of us!
Apparently, this part is sometimes the longest during production. From cuts, to translation of interviewees' different languages, to inserting lower thirds, colour grading and so on, this takes quite some time.
In the end, a “This is great work, thank you, guys!” gives everyone on the team the satisfaction and fuel to continue doing this. 💪🏿
