The Farmers Media Communicating for Rural Development Based in ntinda-Kampala , the Farmers Media has placed itsself as Uganda’s first agricultural information centre.

Farmers Media is a specialised agro-based media organisation that specialises in agricultural communication in Uganda and the COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) region. Created in 2003 as the Farmers Voice and later transformed to Farmers Media in 2007 the organisation’s mission is to inform and empower rural communities through promotion of agriculture-based information.

Today am honoured to have been selected to be part of a ten-man team that composes the NATIONAL ADVISORY TASKFORCE of the Climate Adaptation and Resilience Initiative (CLARE) Uganda Project entitled: “Building Women Smallholder Farmers’ Empowerment and Adaptive Capacities: A pathway to enhancing women’s Resilience to Climate Change in Uganda (WOSFER)
WOSFER project is a collaborative effort between Makerere University School of Women and Gender Studies and the Association of Uganda Professional Women in Agriculture, and the Environment (AUPWAE) designed to build women smallholder farmers’ empowerment and adaptive capacities as a pathway to strengthening resilience to climate change shocks. The project is supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) under the CLARE Initiative.
