Leaders in Kasese district should harmonize and remove politics out of the Kilembe Mines hospital issues Hon. Frako Robert Centenary former MP Kasese Municipality says.

Hon. Centenary said this yesterday evening while talking to our reporter in his office in Kasese town explaining that leaders in should remove politics in kilembe mines hospital issues and work together as a team to make a follower up to the minister of health Dr. Jane Ruth Acenge who made her pledge on Kilembe mines hospital.

Hon. Centenary revealed that he is very ready to work with the current leaders in ensuring that ensuring that Kilembe mines hospital rescued since it is the only big hospital that is within Kasese Municipality and that saves many people from different parts of the country.

Hon. Centenary further added in 2021 when he was still in parliamentary office Kilembe mine had given the hospital 5 arcs of land opposite where the hospital was before and where the geological study report were made approving that the place is very safe to for the hospital to be constructed at.

According to hon. Centenary he talked with the minister of health Dr. Ruth Acenge at a personal level and she told him that they are seriously following Kilembe mines hospital and that they have even got donors who is coming to construct a brand new hospital, adding that’s when he came out of the office thinking his legislator will follow up the matter.

This follows the latter that Kasese district leaders received last week from the permanent secretary Dr. Atwine Dian saying, Deactivation of kilembe Mines Hospital and Transfer of EMHS Credit Line Allocation.

Dr Julius Monday Rude, a medical specialist has maintained that his young brother the late Johnson Maate Rude succumbed to Acute Kidney failure not committing su***de (self poisoning).

Johnson Maate Rude who was the Senior Accountant for Kibuku town Council in Ntoroko district, died on Thursday afternoon on the way as he was being rushed to Mbarara Referral Hospital after being referred from Kasese Hospital in Kasese town.

After his death, there were multiple reports and rumors alleging that the deceased could have succumbed to poison.

But while addressing hundreds of mourners at Kagando top hill in Kagando 1 cell in Kisinga Town Council for the final send-off of the deceased, Dr Rude Monday Bwambale, who is the elder brother to the deceased, maintained that his brother died of Acute Kidney failure.

He refuted the ongoing reports and rumors both in public and on social media that the late poisoned himself that resulted into his death.

In his remarks, the LC 3 Chairperson, Doviko Thembo encouraged his electorate (the people of greater Kisinga sub-county) and the general public to always go for medical checkups regularly in order to avoid untimely death.

The Kasese District LCV Vice Chairperson, asked the mourners to cast all their vote for Dr Rude come 2026 in sympathy to the brotherly loss since the dream of Johnson Maate Rude the late was to see his elder brother Dr Monday Rude in parliment.

The Bukonzo County East NRM Chairperson has challenged all the NRM sub-county Chairpersons and their Executives to continue supporting and rallying behind the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu (OBR) and her activities.

Dr Julius Bwambale Monday Rude, who is also the current NRM flag bearer for the Bukonzo County East Parliamentary seat, describes OBR as the only identity for every person who subscribes to each of the clans within the Rwenzururu Kingdom.

Dr Rude made the remarks during his recently concluded NRM Councils for Bukonzo East Constituency that were held in two places of Mutanywana Secondary School in Kyarumba Town Council and at Kisinga Vocational Secondary School in Kisinga Town Council respectively.

He implored the NRM leaders to own the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu and always talk about her activities whenever they get a platform.

Dr Rude lashed to the members of opposition political parties in the constituency whom he said that they have always kept spreading false information to the voters during elections that the NRM party in Bukonzo County East does not support OBR and her activities.

He described the move as a negative propaganda on the ruling NRM party in the constituency.

According to Dr Rude, the Bukonzo County East NRM Council was aimed at reminding the NRM sub-county Chairpersons and their Executives on their duties and responsibilities of mobilizing the masses on the importance of joining, supporting and voting NRM party.

Dr Rude tasked all NRM mobilisers to always know the developments and challenges in their areas of jurisdiction so that the ruling government should know where might be loopholes and emergencies.

Dr. Rude tournament has been finalized as Kisinga Sub county has won the trophy as Kinyamaseke Town Counil fall to the second position .

Mr. Monday Rude the chief Sponsor for the tournament said it was all organized in good faith regardless of religion and political affiliation.

todays matches were semi-Finals and finals as mr. Rude said the tournament is meant to boost the youth talents at Kinyamaseke Primary School Play ground, .

A SUSPECT ESCAPE FROM POLICE CELLS.

Police and authorities of Nyakiyumbu Sub County are hunting for two suspects on allegations of breaking a police lawful custody.
Mr. Sunday Peter Kakule the Nyakiyumbu LC III chairperson who is also the head security told our reporter that two inmates broke the police custody last week on Tuesday where both were arrested on charges of theft and domestic violence.
Mr. Kakule withheld the names of the suspects to enable the investigation move smoothly where he said a new case has been registered on them called escape from lawful custody.
Mr. Kakule however said prisoners escaped because the police custody is not in good state and asked Uganda Prison Services to partner with Uganda Police to construct a well and safe police cells house.
He warned locals against engaging in criminal activities like theft, defilement and domestic violence by keeping law and order.

Over 118 motorcycles have been impounded by police in the Rwenzori East region during their operation on crash helmets, reflector jackets and other offences which started last week.
This was revealed by ASP. Nelson Tumushime the Rwenzori East police region PRO while talking to our reporter today morning at his office in Kasese municipality.
ASP. Tumushime explained that out of the 118 motorcycles impounded 41 were from Kasese central division, 29 from Bwera vision, 28 from Hima division and 20 Katwe-Kabatoro division and about 4,780,000 shillings has been collected.
ASP. Tumushime also revealed that the operation is still ongoing and it is going to be tuff than it has been since boda-boda riders are not complying.
ASP. Tumushime added that all motorcycles that are operating without crash helmets, reflector jackets and carrying more than one passenger shall be impounded.

Kasese Municipal councilor for Salute A and B Mr. Wilson Ntama is stuck with an eleven year old girl who runway from her father’s house after being threatened to be beaten with no reason by his father.
While talking to our reporter today morning in Kasese town, an eleven year old girl who identified herself as Betty Praise from Kilembe a daughter to Mr. Hebert Edinga explained that on Sunday evening her father came home while drunk and started telling them that he is going beat them with no reason.
Betty praise with her other two siblings told our reporter that their mother separated from their father because he could beat her every day and that their mother is currently living in Kampala.
Betty further explained that when the incident occurred, they ran to different directions and now do not know the whereabouts of one another.
Betty noted that this is not the first time for such an incident to happen adding that their father beats them whenever he gets drunk.
She called upon government and well wishers for help such that they can live happy and get back to school.
Mr. Wilson Ntama the Kasese Municipal councilor for Saluti A and B narrated how the child came to his home brought by locals yesterday evening.
By the press time Mr. Ntama was planning to take the girl to police station.
Mr. Ntama used the same time to advise parents with such habit to stop and take good care of their children since they are blessings from God.

People living in Kasese and the country at large have been challenged to embrace the “Your Everyday Money” (YEM) a digital currency, whose objective is to replace the US dollar, Mr. Asaba Patrick Muhesi the currency coordinator for Kasese District Cluster has said.
While speaking to the media today in Kasese Municipality during the celebration of 11 years since the inception of the Unicorn network and YEM digital currency Mr. Muhesi challenged Ugandans to embrace the YEM- a digital currency as the only one that can replace US dollars.
Mr. Muhesi also urged people to put their money in the digital currency space before describing the investment as a long term venture.
Bishop of the Orthodox church Kiiza Thomas who attended the same function also said that, the digital currency YEM (your everyday money) is digital money that operates digitally online just like the mobile money business operations
Mr. Faiza Baguma CEO per digital company Bushenyi also noted that the world has come-up with digital money which will soon replace currency notes of Dollars and shillings among others adding that it’s going to help the county to fight corruption in the world at large.
However over 2 billion people in the world is being targeted to join the digital currency by buying shares as part of investment.

Six people from Busongora North yesterday crossed from National Resistance Movement NRM to National Unity Platform NUP party after they were convinced by former Member of Parliament aspirant Jonane Bwambale Bamwenda.
They were received by Brian Basisa at the NUP office in Kasese town yesterday.
Mr. Basisa revealed that as NUP part is already doing mobilization to prepare for the 2026 general elections.

Mr. Jonane Bwambale the NUP chief mobilizer thanked the defectors for joining NUP party which he described as the party that has light, adding that the party is still new with hope of taking over the Uganda’s leadership in a few years to come.

The defectors told journalists’ that they decided to join NUP because of the help they have been receiving from Mr. Jonan Bamwenda.

Youths in MK Kasese network project have been challenged to use the project responsibly for uniting themselves.
This was remarked by the state minister for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga who has been appointed as the project patron during his welcoming party at Kiime Resort in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council.
According to Hon. Kabbyanga MK Kasese network project should be used as project that will benefit and empower youth economically.
In his remarks Mr. Charles Mwanga Zaghale the vice chairperson MK Kasese network project described MK project as a non political project aiming at developing and empowering the youth in Uganda.
However, the Kasese district chief administrative officer, Mr. Elias Byamugu who attended the party talked about the issue of cattle market which has caused Irritant reactions between Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council and Isango sub-county.
Mr. Byamungu assured residents that the matter will be handled in free and fair manner since it is a small matter.
