IN THE NEWS
We have learnt of the violent abduction yesterday of Hon. Barnabas Tinkasiimire, Member of Parliament for Buyaga West Constituency. Information from his legal team indicates that he was picked up from Rubis petrol station - Makerere at around 5:00pm, by over 10 armed men moving in a drone, in an extremely violent manner.

Although he is a member of NRM and has many times been unjustifiably critical of our struggle for a better country, Hon. Tinkasiimire has often been vocal about misrule and bad governance. Lately, he has been very critical of Museveni's effort to impose his brutal son on our country, which his family believes is the reason he is being persecuted and held incommunicado. They fear that he is being subjected to torture, like many others who are abducted. His family has tried to look for him without success.

We join other Ugandans of good conscience in demanding for his immediate release from illegal detention.

Recently, we warned the greedy, selfish, thoughtless NRM MPs against passing that UPDF Amendment Bill. We told them that as day follows night, many will fall victim to the same criminality they're legislating into law. Hopefully, what is happening to Hon. Tinkasiimire will be a wake up call that in a sinking boat, NO ONE CAN BE SAFE.

What really separated me from Bobi Wine was something personal.

Babie used to kunoba and come to my home. But when Zuena left me and went back to her parents’ home, I reached out to Babie for help. I thought, as a friend to my wife, she would speak to her and help us sort things out.

But when Babie told Bobi Wine about it, instead of helping, he turned around and started insulting me. I was simply asking for help from a friend. Since our families were close, I truly thought they would support me, but it turned out to be the opposite.

The painful part is, his own wife used to run away and come to my place. We would sit, counsel her, and then send her back to him. But when it was my turn to need support, he chose to insult me.

From that day until now, that’s why we’ve never gotten along.
