UPDF Soldier Kills Three in Agago Shooting Rampage

Agago - The suspect, Private Amenoy Bonny, 45, from the 01 Commando Battalion of the Special Forces Command (SFC), reportedly went on the rampage after a domestic dispute with his wife, Angom Betty, who fled from him. Capt. Edrin Mawanda, Public Information Officer for the 5th Infantry Division, confirmed the incident.

"It is alleged that the soldier, in a fit of rage, was looking for a man he believed had taken his wife," said Mawanda. "He shot indiscriminately, killing three and injuring two."

Scores of Pilgrims Injured in Road Accident Near Lapana

Scores of foot pilgrims from Wii Polo in Paimol, Agago District, were injured in a road accident this evening (20 October 2024) on their return journey near Lapana in Namokora.

According to the Kitgum District RDC, Mr. Ssegawa Nehemiah Jimmy Ebil, a team from the Traffic Police and ambulances has been dispatched to the scene.

"We have sent a response team to assist the injured. Fortunately, no deaths have been reported so far," said Mr. Ebil.

Reports indicate that three victims are in critical condition.

"The situation is serious for a few of the injured, and we are ensuring they receive the necessary medical attention promptly," added Mr. Ebil

The Pader district Grade magistrate court has 8th June 2023 remanded to Kineni prison a housemaid who is alleged to have stolen items plus cash worth 2.9million from a business woman, Jennet Akello who resides in Pajule town council.

Akello recovered only the kids clothes and shillings 70,000.
