I am not in Uganda by accident - Israel Mbonyi

Speaking to members of the press in Kampala this week, gospel musician Israel Mbonyi said he is deeply moved by the overwhelming love he has received since arrival, adding that he is not in the country by accident.

The Rwanda-based star is expected to minister live this Friday at Millenial Grounds (Former KCCA Grounds) and then at Mbarara University Inn grounds on 25th August, 2024

Addressing his heartily desire to win souls for Christ, through gospel music, Israel Mbonyi said his commitment was solidified by an encounter he had with God while pursuing a Pharmacy program in India.

“My time in India, pursuing a pharmacy course, was a pivotal period in my Christian journey, where I solidified my faith, even after being saved, and discovered a more profound sense of purpose,” he said.

On why he lives a humble life, even after filling up large venues in countries like Belgium, Mbonyi said: “The cost of fame is too high for me; I prefer the simplicity and freedom that comes with living a humble life.”

“His ministry has been a source of immense joy and inspiration to me, and I have no doubt that Uganda is on the cusp of a transformative awakening that will leave a lasting legacy,” Gospel musician Levixone said at the presser.

Hon. Dr. Miria Matembe: Christian politicians are called to imitate Jesus

“I know that Christians have a negative attitude towards politicians. They forget that politics is the science of managing society and that the Church is also managing society. So, we should resent bad management of society. Whether it is at political or Church level.

“People forget that Jesus was the most effective and transformative politician that walked the earth. When you look at Isaiah 9:6, it says that the government was to be on Jesus' shoulder. In other-words, he was leading a government. He came with a five point program (Ephesians 4:11). He chose 12 cabinet ministers, not 50+ like we see others do.

“He worked for three years. Can you imagine? Not decades like other do. He never reshuffled his cabinet at all, never abused His ministers. Instead, He guided them, nurtured them, and taught them His mission and vision. And within three years, I can assure you they had understood it.

“Jesus had effective mobilization of His followers. He was totally committed and focused on His mission that He had to die for it. And as a result, he shook the then established system very seriously. It is now over 2000 years but His followers are increasing every day. Blessed are those who follow in His footsteps. Follow the politics of Jesus Christ, because He was an effective politician.”

Photos: Kirk Franklin prayed for Ugandan gospel musician, Exodus Thursday, during his visit to various media houses and tour centers in the central business district, Kampala.

The development comes months since Exodus reportedly renewed his commitment to God, and ministry after a lengthy struggle with mental health and temptations of substance abuse.

Kirk Franklin has sold more than 10 million gospel albums in less than 10 years. However, he recently revealed in a report by CBN News it all does not count before God.

“You know it's all… garbage. None of that junk you can take to heaven, but I was bathing in it. And a lot of my Christian community was bathing in it with me, he said.

Kirk told the source that it is no secret several ministers of the gospel - him inclusive- have gone through various spiritual and emotional struggles due to the pressures that come with ministry.

He encourages ministers of the gospel to have a ministry they submit to, and a Christian leader who holds them accountable.

"I get evangelically ticked off by the fact that I wished somebody would have taught me a long time ago about the repercussions of s*x and flesh and lust and vanity and pride and ego. I wished somebody would have been holding my little behind accountable years ago," he said.

"My victory didn't come by my emotional experience; my victory came through Truth. When I was taught Truth, that's when I got my freedom,” Kirk said in a report by CBN News.

Kirk Franklin is in Uganda together with influential gospel group Maverick City Music and others, for the Kingdom World Tour concert slated for 16th August, 2024 at Makerere University Sports grounds.
