Lake Mburo national park located in kiruhura district in the western region of the Pearl of Africa is the smallest of Uganda's Savannah national Parks. It's home to 350 bird species as well as impala, zebra, Eland, Buffalo, oribi, defassa waterbuck, leopard, hyena and hippo.
Once covered by open savannah, lake mburo national park now contains much woodland as there are no elephants to tame the vegetation.
The various animal species in the park are a marvel and neet the taste of any wild life ethusiast thus the major activities engaged in at the park. Such activities include bird watching from the valleys and swampy areas of the park, game drives made possible by the track network in the park, hiking and nature walks with guidance of a game ranger, horse-back safaris, sports fishing, boat voyage, you name it and it is done in lake mburo.
