The NUP has declined to issue Medard Ssegona a party card, opting instead for musician Mathias Walukaga, who serves as mayor of Kyengera town, to represent the party in Busiro East County. Shamim Malende will retain her Kampala Woman MP ticket, while Zahara Luyilika, who had been seeking the same seat, has been given the ticket for Makindye West Constituency, which is currently represented by Allan Aloysius Ssewanyana.

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), has filed charges of fraud and forgery against Lutwama Isaac Mugandazi. Prosecutors allege that between April and July 2019, in Kasalaga Village, Mityana District, Lutwama and others still at large forged and presented powers of attorney, falsely claiming they had been issued by Najjemba Christine, an 83-year-old widow. He is further accused of conspiring with others at the Mityana Ministry Zonal Office to fraudulently acquire land titles in Busujju, which he later sold.
