Bagwere National Students Association (BANSA) Handover Ceremony.

Dr. Patrick Godfrey Wakida, the elected Member of Parliament for Kabweri County (Kibuku District), together with Hon. Dr. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, the State Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development (in charge of Children and Youth Affairs), who served as the Guest of Honour, graced the Bagwere National Students Association (BANSA) handover ceremony today.
The event took place at Kadama Primary School playground.
In his remarks, MP Dr. Wakida advised the students—particularly the girl child—to remain focused on their studies and avoid distractions that could derail their education and future.
Minister Balaam also urged the students to prioritize their books and academic excellence. He extended gratitude to the people of Kibuku for the overwhelming votes they gave to H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He further thanked Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, for inviting him to the function. Additionally, he advised the community to make good use of the funds provided under the Parish Development Model (PDM) for meaningful development.
The ceremony was a vibrant gathering of students, leaders, and community members celebrating leadership transition within the association.

BUKEDI DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN TEAM IN BUTALEJA DISTRICT.

The government's program aims to lift people out of poverty by educating them on sustainable practices. The strategic plan includes initiatives such as cocoa farming, coffee cultivation, poultry keeping, and fish farming.

The team has called upon the community to attend a teaching session (Kibalo) on the Development Strategic Plan, scheduled for January 9-10, 2026, at Omulen City in Pallisa District.

The STI_OP utilized the Kibalo tool to prioritize enterprises in the Bukedi Sub-region and developed the Bukedi Strategic Plan for Accelerated Wealth Creation (2024-2040). Cocoa farming emerged as the most profitable initiative.

This information has been communicated by Dr. Monica Masanza Musenero, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovations, to promote awareness in the Bukedi region.
