Namisindwa County MP Hopeful Wamana Leads Community in Road Construction

Wamana Peter, a parliamentary candidate for Namisindwa County, joined residents of Bunasimbi Parish to launch the construction of a 4km community road connecting Bunasimbi Trading Center to the Uganda Wildlife Station in Mount Elgon National Park.

Supported by local leaders, Wamana provided financial assistance and refreshments for volunteers. He urged district leaders to contribute resources for road maintenance.

Residents hope the road will improve agricultural transportation and boost the local economy.

Youth Councillor Emma Bwayo praised the community’s efforts while criticizing authorities for neglecting such essential projects.

Manchester United are stumbling through the 2024/25 Premier League season under Rúben Amorim. As of now, they sit mid-table (around 13th-15th, depending on other results), with a patchy run of results.

In their last five league games, they’ve managed just one win, two draws, and two losses (W1, D2, L2).

Their most recent league outing was a 2-1 loss to Arsenal, exposing defensive frailties and a lack of cohesion. will they overcome the on-form Toffees? catch the action commentary live on Elgon FM 15:30 EAT with Ahmed.

The poor state of the Bufumbo-Busamaga road has left a section of residents in Mbale City angry.
The residents expressed their anger in a protest held on Friday morning by blocking the road with stones and logs; paralyzing traffic for over two hours.
Rogers Mudega and Sam Wanzala, boda boda riders in Busamaga, decried the deplorable state of the road saying it had led to health problems like flue amongst residents.
Peter Wamugoda and Seize Wanzira, residents of Busamaga, in Industrial City Division, are frustrated by the government failing to tarmac the road despite promises made 20 years ago.

Opposition groups, led by the National Unity Platform (NUP), are set to discuss a joint approach to address the ongoing imprisonment of Dr. Kizza Besigye.

Speaking outside Luzira Prisons, where they had gone to check on Dr. Besigye, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the NUP president, emphasized the need for a unified approach to the issue.
Dr. Kizza Besigye and his political associate, Haji Obeid Lutale Kamulegeya, were charged in the General Court Martial for being found in possession of fi****ms and ammunition, which are reserved for the armed forces. Besigye was also later charged with treachery.

The duo was kidnapped in November of last year from Kenya, where they had gone to attend the launch of a book by Martha Karua, a former minister and opposition leader. Since then, they have been held on remand at Luzira Prison, following orders from the Court Martial.

A conflict is brewing between foundation bodies and Mbale City over a head teacher transfer program involving two schools: Nabuyonga Primary School and Mbale Police Barracks Wanyera Primary School.

Despite Mbale City's education department transferring head teachers to all government primary schools in January, these two schools have resisted the changes.
At Nabuyonga Primary School, head teacher Grace Iren Kabuni was transferred to Nauyo Primary School. However, the Church of Uganda Mbale Diocese, through Bishop Wilson Nandaa, wrote a letter to Mbale City, rejecting the transfer. The letter cited Kabuni’s exceptional leadership and the transformation of the school under her guidance.
