The National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate, Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola, has been declared the winner of the Kawempe North parliamentary by-election.

Luyimbazi, a city lawyer, emerged victorious after securing 17,764 votes, defeating nine other contenders. Faridah Nambi of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), garnered 8,593 votes, according to the Electoral Commission and others followed.
