The 5th Afrikan Fashion Awards edition marked a major turning point in the future of Uganda's fashion creative sector. Together with the then minister of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives, Hon. Annie Amelia Kyambadde - The Otran Foundation with funding from Otran Holdings championed the formation of the first ever Fashion Society of Uganda, an overall sector umbrella organization.
