Anglican and Catholic believers have walked the ecumenical Way of the Cross through Mukono town, recalling Jesus’ crucifixion for our sins.
Bishop Enos Kitto Kagodo led the procession from Sts. Philip & Andrew’s Cathedral to Bishop’s Senior where he prayed for the faithful arguing them to emulate Jesus.
Different stations were staged at; Pension House, Church of Uganda Hospital, Mukono General Hospital, the Municipality, Police Station, Centenary Bank, Mukono Central Division offices, Mituba IV headquarters, District Headquarters building, Kawuga Prison and finally St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church in Bugujju.
In his address, Bishop Kagodo condemned recent violence mentioning yesterday’s Gaba tragedy that claimed four daycare children. He urged Mukono residents to reflect on the day’s meaning, seek reconciliation, and avoid harming others while professing faith.
The Bishop assured families whose businesses have been disrupted due to the trade order that the christ we serve is more than able to make things work for all.
At Kawuga Prison, Cathedral Provost , The Very Rev. Canon Godfrey Ssengendo reminded inmates that they aren’t beyond redemption, encouraging repentance, forgiveness and faith in Christ.
He also comforted patients at Church of Uganda Hospital, assuring them of God’s healing presence.
Cathedral Vicar, Rev. Daniel Bbalabyekkubo prayed for schools and businesses, urging students to focus on Jesus through it all.

Rev. Fr. Vianne Kyeyume of St. Charles Lwanga asked for strength for Mukono General Hospital staff, calling for prayers for the sick and caregivers (John 10:10) while Rev. Fr. Bonny Ssekanjako warned against actions that lead to imprisonment and appealed to Mukono’s municipal, district and division leaders to serve responsibly knowing they are only stewards placed by God.
