I want to extend my warmest congratulations to Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego upon his appointment as Governor of the Bank of Uganda. This is a significant milestone for Uganda's economy, and I'm confident that Dr. Atingi-Ego's extensive experience in central banking and financial policy will serve him well in navigating the country's economic challenges. As the former Deputy Governor, Dr. Atingi-Ego has already made significant contributions to Uganda's monetary policies, and his experience working with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Macroeconomics and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI) will undoubtedly be invaluable in his new role. Dr. Atingi-Ego's expertise in monetary policy frameworks, financial stability, and economic development will be crucial in steering Uganda's economy forward.

I also wish to congratulate Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba on his appointment as the new Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda. Prof. Nuwagaba is a renowned economist and consultant specializing in economic transformation and poverty alleviation. His expertise in fiscal policy, financial management, and economic development will complement Dr. Atingi-Ego's leadership as Uganda navigates global economic challenges and seeks sustainable growth.

I join the nation in celebrating these milestones and wishing Dr. Atingi-Ego and Prof. Nuwagaba all the best in their new roles.

The woman member of Parliament for Serere District and also minister of state for fisheries Hon. Hellen Adoa together with her friends from Singapore a team led by Amit Jain, Director of the NTU - SBF. Centre for African studies at Nanyang Technological University organized a training earlier today in Serere district and equiped fish farmers and technical staff on Blue Economy and aquaculture's potential for Africa.
The training was aimed at empowering local fish farmers and promoting sustainable economic growth.
Toto honourable further encouraged the farmers to adopt more innovative approaches to fish farming, integrating new technologies and practices to enhance productivity and minimize environmental damage.
