Just had an incredible visit to Opeta Sub County in Magoro County, Katakwi District! The area is dotted with scattered Amarula trees, which are not only a beautiful sight but also an important part of the local culture.

Amarula, a fruit-bearing tree native to Southern Africa, produces the marula fruit that is famously used to make Amarula wine.

The fruit is rich in vitamin C and has a tart, citrusy flavor. Local communities here traditionally use it to produce a fermented beverage, cherished for its unique taste. It's amazing to see how these trees contribute to both the environment and the livelihoods of the people. A truly enriching experience!

Lubaga Hospital has officially confirmed the death of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North, putting to rest social media speculation that had flooded various platforms earlier in the day.

According to the official statement released by the hospital, Hon. Ssegirinya passed away on Thursday, 9th January 2025, at 12:10 pm, after receiving extensive medical care from the hospital's dedicated team. Despite all efforts to ensure his recovery, the honorable legislator succumbed to his health challenges.

Hon. Ssegirinya had been admitted to Lubaga Hospital prior to his passing.
