Two Dead, Eight Injured After Taxi Rams Into Building in Kampala

At least two people have died and eight others were injured in a road accident on Lubaga Road, opposite Luqman Petrol Station in Kampala. The crash occurred at around 6:30 AM when a speeding Toyota Hiace (registration number UAU 194T), traveling from Sanyu Babies Home on Butikiro Road, failed to brake while descending a slope.

The vehicle lost control and crashed into a building, instantly killing two people, including the driver, and injuring eight passengers.

The injured were rushed to Mengo Hospital and Mulago Referral Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to Mulago City Mortuary for post-mortem examinations.

The vehicle has been towed to Old Kampala Police Station for inspection as investigations begin. Traffic police spokesperson Michael Kananura confirmed the incident, urging motorists to adhere to speed limits, especially in urban areas, and ensure their vehicles are well-maintained to prevent similar accidents.

Tragic Accident on Kapchorwa-Mbale Road: Two Lives Lost, Three Injured

A Riham soda truck (Reg No: UBJ 460N) lost control on a sharp bend at Towei, a well-known black spot on the Kapchorwa-Mbale road. The vehicle, carrying five people, veered off the road and crashed, claiming two lives instantly.

Three others survived and have been taken to Kapchorwa Hospital for urgent medical care. Identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed.
