A friend wrote this by the sea for me and I wanted to share it with y'all. 💙🌊🫂

There are many losses that I mark, but today, I am counting the days since my father Mark Allyn Edwards passed away on April 6, 2020.

I am also holding space for y'all today wherever you're at on your own grief journey, whatever the numbers you know and notice. If you'd like to drop a number in the comments, wirh or without an explanation, as you wish, please feel free.

All was not sunshine and rainbows in my relationship with my dad. His passing marked a day of release for me, a freedom from his definition of a "good girl." He was many things to many people, and I hold space for the complexity of him, the pastor, the missionary, the father, the husband, the man, and the little boy.

Growth can be gentle. 🌱

Found some sand!

After I posted that there was no sand. Oh dear. That's how it is sometimes. We don't see things until later. 🌊🌊

Next attempt: Ecuador partnership. Exciting things to come (I hope) for our little grief relief (even for just one breath) group.

FYI: To use a garden metaphor, it may take a while to see fruit (name photos). Roots are growing right now (interviews, training, logistics, etc).

📋Business Update:

🌲🌳The dogs and I are scouting new locations for Names by the Tree. I no longer live by the sea, but still plan occasional trips to the seaside. I now live somewhere more deserty and dry. 🌵

The black and white dog is Blubelle and you may remember my chocolate lab, Cocoa Bean.
