From Abilene Police Department: On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, 39-year-old Joel Michael Paris was arrested by the Abilene Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit, in collaboration with U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), on charges of Promotion of Child Po*******hy, a second-degree felony under Texas Penal Code § 43.26.

The arrest followed a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, leading detectives to identify a video depicting juvenile females, ages 12 to 14, engaging in sexual conduct, uploaded via Discord. A search warrant was executed at Paris's residence, and he was taken into custody at his workplace, Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Paris has been booked into the Taylor County Jail. The Abilene Police Department encourages anyone with information related to this case or who may have had any questionable contact with Joel Michael Paris to contact the Cyber Crimes Unit at 325-676-6610.
