BrEaKing nEws!

In an unprecedented move, KACU has appointed a new Director and he means business.

Effective immediately, KACU will be returning to its roots, changing the station's broadcast signal back to 89.7, leaving many fans of 89.5 wondering what happened. In a statement, the new Director commented, "Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward... or in this case, a step backward to reach the perfect frequency."

But that's not all! KACU's pledge drive mugs are also getting a major upgrade—say goodbye to your standard coffee mug and hello to the baby bottle. The Director claims, "What better way to nurture our listeners’ support than with the classic bottle? It’s time to bottle up some goodwill!”

And for the truly adventurous among you, KACU is thrilled to announce that George Levesque, host of West Texas Dispatch, will be hosting his very first Tiny Floor Concert. Yes, you read that right—George, typically found hosting the rough-and-tumble stories of West Texas, will be taking to the floor for an intimate and groundbreaking performance.

Stay tuned for this avant-garde performance, as George Levesque is sure to break all conventional musical boundaries. Will he use a harmonica? A kazoo? Only time will tell, but you can bet it will be one for the history books.

Decades after her death, there remains no shortage of ways fans memorialize the Tejano superstar. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the city where she lived, and now rests.

New and growing calls to eliminate federal funding for public media endanger the future of local public radio and television stations (like KACU).

Public media is a vital public service that connects communities across the country. It delivers unpaywalled local, national, and international news, lifesaving emergency alerts, and proven educational resources for families.

These cuts could have devastating effects at the local level, including the loss of journalism, educational resources, coverage areas, and stations entirely.

To maximize your impact, you can:

You can sign the petition here: https://protectmypublicmedia.org/coalition/

Email your lawmakers: Urge them to support federal funding for public media.

Call your lawmakers: A quick call can make a powerful difference.
