Most of the breeding heifers we sell are never shown. They’re purchased by breeders to add to their cowherds. Still, a select few females from here have found their way to the big stage:

🔸South Dakota State Fair Supreme Female (Maine)
🔸Wisconsin State Fair Reserve Female (Simmental)
🔸NWSS Champion Hereford Female, Jr Show

This year, our breeding heifers will be offered privately. Our online sale will remain focused on the steers and a select few crossbred heifers.

There are some show heifers in the PT pen, along with a solid group of breeding females—including several that would fit well for someone building a bred heifer sale.

On behalf of Chael and our family, a heartfelt thank you to MILES CITY LIVESTOCK COMMISSION and the Bart Meged family for purchasing Chael’s MontanaFair Grand Champion Market Steer earlier in August and supporting last weekends Champion of Champions show.

It was an honor and a privilege to show up and participate in this Miles City event, where Chael became the first-ever exhibitor to show both the Grand and Reserve Champion steers. 🖤💛

We are grateful for the support Miles City Livestock Commission and the Meged family have shown our family over the years. A special thank you to the Bice family for running such a well-organized, welcoming show and keeping the focus on the kids and their accomplishments. Thank you all for making this a week to remember!

Somewhere along the way, your perspective starts to change...

When you're younger, you remember who beat you, who won Grand, and what class you should have placed higher in.

Then, a few years go by.

You realize you don't really talk about those things anymore. Instead, you remember the family that always made room for one more chair around their tack area. The person who handed you a show stick when yours broke. A mentor who took you to the next level. The friends who celebrated your wins like they were their own.

Those are the things that stay with you.

The banners eventually get packed away in a closet or hung on a wall that you walk past every day without noticing. But the way people made you feel at the barn... that sticks.

As we head into another stretch of county fairs and state fairs, this quote is a good reminder of what really matters.

Competition is part of this industry. It always will be. But the relationships we build, the respect we show, and the way we treat each other are what make people want to come back year after year.

That's the kind of legacy worth chasing.
