Captain Scott Newhall
Time Out Charters is dedicated to providing clients with the best possible fishing experience on the water. The back bay and ocean waters of New Jersey are Captain Scott’s playground. Like his grandfather and father before him, Capt. Scott prides himself on trophy catches of fluke (summer flounder), striped bass, blackfish, sea bass, bluefish, weakfish, sharks, mahi, ling and so, so much more. Comfort and safety are top priorities along with bending the rod! Captain Scott is the father of two wonderful boys, Alex and Michael. He has been writing for the Fisherman Magazine for 20 years and On The Water Magazine for 10 years. Captain Scott is a regular guest on ESPN Rack N Fin Radio.
He is pro-staff for Pure Fishing which inlcudes the likes of Penn, Berkley, Stren, Shakespeare, Spiderwire, Ugly Stick, Mitchell, Hodgeman, Abu Garcia, Fenwick, Sebile, Johnson, Hardy and Pflueger. What’s more, he is a pro-staff member of Tsunami, Bimini Bay, Bluewater Candy Fishing Lures and Tony Maja Products. Time Out Charters was recognized by the Philadelphia Magazine in 2016 as the “Best Fishing Charter” and Capt. Scott has received a handful of writing recognitions. Furthermore, he’s helped designed fishing charts for New Jersey for Top Spot Fishing Maps.
Captain Scott does a variety of seminars of local fishing and tactics each offseason at places like the Atlantic City Boat Show, Edison Fishing Expo and Philadelphia Fishing Expo. In 2011 and 2020 he was on The Saltwater Sportsman George Poveromo seminar panels. Captain Scott enjoys the teaching side of things and helping other anglers in the seminars or during the charters themselves.
