When I woke up this morning, there was a really loud bird chirping by the window. It was reminding me that.. it’s Bass Time! Post up pics of your catches from last week. I’m pretty sure y’all caught some this weekend too. Let’s see ‘em! *Side Note* I really enjoy seeing your catches, if you could post what lake you were fishing, that would be great. I caught this one at Carters Lake yesterday.

I strip line off of my reels the old school way, by hand. It can be time consuming to do several reels at a time. Does anyone use an electric line stripper?
Any recommendations?

I went bank fishing yesterday at Allatoona and saw firsthand, the algae blooms. It was every where I went and I made 3 stops. I don’t know what causes it and I’ve seen a lot of comments that this happens every year. I’ve been fishing this lake for 13 years and I’ve never seen it like this. I’ve spoken with anglers that have fished this lake 30 years or more and they’ve never experienced this either. I tournament and fun fish on Allatoona and have decided I don’t want this stuff in my livewells. So until this stuff clears up, my boat is not going in the lake. It’s a tough decision because I love fishing this lake, but it’s gotten out of hand. This is a picture from yesterday, photo credit: NOEoutdoors , at Allatoona Yacht Club. I have read that when blue green algae dies off, it depletes oxygen in the water as it decays. I’m no fisheries biologist, but I hope we don’t have a big fish kill. I’m going to be speaking to the DNR Fisheries Biologist about the impact this may have on the fishery. What do you think has caused this event at Lake Allatoona?
UPDATE - 6/2/2026. It appears conditions at Allatoona have improved. I went out yesterday and investigated. I was on the South end. From Allatoona Landing down past the Hwy 41 bridge looked fine. Going further North today.

Lesson of the day. When you miss a fish and it doesn’t get the hook, it’s not over. Go right back after it. The fish is fired up and you can catch it. 🎣 Always have a follow up ready. Shaky head. 💯
