The Hardin County Sheriff's Office issued the following release late Thursday morning regarding its investigation into a homicide on Wednesday, July 7:

"The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into a homicide that occurred Wednesday evening in Buck Township in Southeast Hardin County.

Sheriff's investigators, being assisted by Ohio BCI&I and the Hardin County Coroner's Office, are following all potential leads as they are received. The Hardin County Prosecutor's Office is also assisting with the investigation to ensure thorough case development.

The body of the male victim was transferred to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Sheriff's Office does not believe that any local residents have reason to be concerned with a subject or subjects being at large in the area, which would present a concern for their safety.

Anyone who may have information of any nature concerning this case should contact the Hardin County Sheriff's Office at (419) 673-1268, or call the Sheriff's Office Tip Line at (419) 675-8475."
