A deeper dive on the 1,525 mile un-registered 454SS truck. Long read for the few interested.

This truck was dealer traded from an Alabama dealer to Riverfront Chevrolet in Burkesville, Kentucky - a Chevrolet dealership in a town of 3,000 people. It sat on Riverfront’s lot until September of 1992. They would drive it off and on over the 2 years it was with them.

The gentleman we purchased it from traded in his 1991 Chevrolet extended cab - a straight across trade. The rural dealer thought they would have better luck selling it instead of the 454SS.

They each drove half way - meeting in eastern Arkansas to make the deal. He drove it back to Oklahoma…and it sat. Other than moving it when needed while shuffling vehicles, it didn’t move. He never filed the MSO (certificate of origin), so the truck was never tagged and has never been registered or titled in any state.

It was sitting in a dirt floor pole barn with several other vehicles. His dog got in at some point and jumped all down the driver side. Luckily it appears to all be light surface scratches. The muddy paws make it looks worse than it is.

The truck is fully original down to the tires. No rats or mice, just a few dirt dobber nests.

This is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for us. We’re super stoked it worked out and are excited to get this truck back to what it deserves to be.
