Remember the spring of 1979 well. I was still 12 years old and in the 7th grade. I was 6 months or so away from starting my fist mixshow, which I still do, called Trip 248. The Logical Song struck hard as the first single off the album. The little local AM station, WFOM, played the hell out of it. The lyrics to a pr***en seemed so deep and relatable at the same time. Good Bye Stranger fit right in with the Summer of turning Age 13 when the hormones ruled and those heartbreaking early teenage romances surged and ebbed. My sister then bought me the full album for my birthday so I got to know the entire program well. I bought Take the Long Way home single as a final keep sake from that golden 79-80 era when I still bought a lot of pop centered records outside of punk and metal slabs. RIP Rick Davies.
