We’re looking forward to welcoming Charean Jane Williams, NBC Sports’ longtime NFL writer, as our guest speaker on Aug. 11 (corrects early date) at the Roundtable at Square Tables. It promises to be another fun and informative evening.
A true trailblazer in sports journalism, Charean is known to many as “Mother Football,” according to her Texas Sports Hall of Fame biography. She was the first woman elected president of the Pro Football Writers of America and, in 2018, became the first woman to receive the organization’s prestigious McCann Award.
During her distinguished career, Charean covered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Orlando Sentinel and the Dallas Cowboys for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. She now covers the NFL for NBC Sports.
The evening begins with a mixer at 7 p.m., followed by introductions at 7:30 p.m. Bob Kowalski will moderate the conversation.
If you’d like to attend or would like more information, send me a message.
Now in its third year, the Roundtable at Square Tables has welcomed an outstanding lineup of guests from journalism, publishing, television, radio, entertainment and public relations.
Our speakers have included journalists, broadcasters, authors, filmmakers, actors, podcasters, publicists and other accomplished communicators, all sharing their experiences and insights in an informal setting.
Special thanks to the Roundtable committee: Bob Kowalski, Kelly J Kitchens Wickersham, Eric Zarate, Gregg Ellman, Amanda Rogers Kowalski and Dan Dunn.
