If you’re wondering what we’ve been up to….its been…work…. Not on the farm though. It’s avoiding foreclosure. Both my husband and I are working non-stop to keep our place. On Easter Sunday my son was almost bitten by a copperhead. My son came in immediately and told me there was a snake with “Hershey kisses” in the coop. Lo and behold, my husband went back outside (as I was tending to dinner) and he found another one. The first Copperhead he found almost bit my son. It Automatically went into a “strike” pose. All Kaden did was walk by and was almost struck. My husband investigated further and found the second copperhead about 3 ft away and it was also aggressive. Both were dispatched. Keep in mind, we keep the beneficial snakes that eat rats and mice (with the occasional egg) and we relocate them outside of the property. Snakes that cause harm to family, pets and livestock are dealt with accordingly.
