Terry Allen
DeNeui
Rushmore, MN
Terry Allen DeNeui, 66, was welcomed through heavens gates after an unexpected motorcycle accident Thursday August 25th,2022. Terry was born on August 12,1956 to Marlene Klingenberg and Dwain DeNeui in Rushmore MN, where he resided most of his life. Early in his life, Terry was baptized into Christ March 24th, 1957. Terry loved God and his church, St. John’s Lutheran in Rushmore. He was a long-time and current elder. He married Verna Wieneke and had two children- Christeen and Allen. After Divorcing later in life, he remarried Laurie Solem-Berger, his wife of 25 years, and added two more bonus children in his life- Alex and Hannah Solem. Shortly after their marriage, Terry and Laurie welcomed what Terry had no idea would become his best friend, his daughter Hope.
Terry was a simple man. His interest always included auto-mechanics. He opened Terry DeNeui Automotive in 1983, and it became his life-long career. To stay busy throughout this time, Terry also worked for – MN West as an auto-mechanics instructor for part of his life. He also enjoyed “playing farmer” for Dean Hokeness most recently while running his business. Terry loved his family. He loved his animals -Zelda, Minx, Lily, and Link. He also took in what he said he never would, a cat, named Jack-Jack. Though he would pretend most of the time he didn’t like the animals, this was not true.
Terry knew every classic rock song and artist. He would often quiz people on their knowledge of lyrics and artists. Terry loved spending time with his wife, riding motorcycles, Ford, a hard day’s work, 70o weather, and the right tool for the job. He loved Foghat, muscle cars, Snap-On tools, shooting squirrels, and loved the Wilderness, specifically in the Black Hills of SD. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA. Terry’s Shop was his happy place because it was where he felt like he belonged. Terry will be known for his sarcastic, quick wit, which his children have inherited. Terry was much more than he seemed, he was the strength of his family and the glue that held things together.
