Teton Interagency Fire managers have lifted Stage 1 fire restrictions for Grand Teton National Park, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and the National Elk Refuge. Recent precipitation, cooler temperatures, and higher relative humidities have lessened the threat of wildfire. However, all public land users, and particularly campers and hunters, are advised to remain vigilant and use caution when building and maintaining a campfire to prevent unwanted human-caused fires.

Crews are currently working on a waterline project in Dry Creek Canyon east of Osmond. The excavation company is doing their best to keep at least one side of the road open for traffic, but drivers are asked to use caution and anticipate potential delays. The project is expected to last a couple of months.

The board for Lincoln County School District No. 2 heard information regarding a potential change to the school calendar at their most recent meeting on September 10. Over the course of discussion during the presentation, it was proposed that the board seek input from district stakeholders leading up to a work session scheduled for October 1.

The Cokeville calendar is not up for discussion at this time. This discussion is for Star Valley schools only.

As the Willow Creek Fire has been extinguished south of Smoot, concerns have ignited over suppression efforts performed by contracted workers for the U.S. Forest Service. These concerns arose following a since deleted Facebook video that showed a large hole dug at a gate leading into the Bridger-Teton National Forest near Willow Creek.
