Might I suggest that those of you hand-wringing and pearl-clutching over Cronies get over yourselves? You don't have to patronize the establishment if you truly believe that the place is a "super-spreader". Go to Vons, Ralph's, Target, Costco, etc. where it is perfectly safe.
As our local news source, is anyone documenting or investigating why restaurants like Cronies are operating in direct violation of the COVID-19 restrictions? They are endangering our community and doing so without any repercussions. Where is Health & Safety? Where are the police? Why is the law arbitrarily being enforced (or in this case, not) in our community?
Thousand Oaks Transit announced that it has joined the American Public Transportation Association’s “Health and Safety Commitments Program.” This program is the public transportation industry’s overarching pledge to passengers that public transit systems are taking all the necessary measures to operate safely as the nation deals with the COVID-19 pandemic. “The health and safety of passengers and operators is the most important priority for Thousand Oaks Transit,” said Mike Houser, Senior Transit Analyst for the City of Thousand Oaks. “Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve worked tirelessly to keep riders safe. We hope that our participation in the APTA Health and Safety Commitments Program will instill even more confidence that we are committed to protecting our riders’ health and safety.” The program was developed based on input from transit users from across the country. Research found four factors that would make riders feel more confident taking public transportation amid COVID-19, all of which Thousand Oaks Transit implements. ~Following public health guidelines from official sources. ~Cleaning and disinfecting transit vehicles frequently and requiring face coverings and other protections. ~Keeping passengers informed and empowered to choose the safest times and routes to ride. ~Putting health first by requiring riders and employees to avoid public transit if they have been exposed to COVID-19 or feel ill. The program also advocates the shared responsibility of our system and our riders to follow the guidelines. Riders rely on Thousand Oaks Transit to follow these commitments, and we rely on riders to protect themselves and other customers. For more information call 805-375-5467, visit Thousand Oaks Transit page or check the website at TOTransit.org. ~
