YEAR IN REVIEW—Relive 2025 through the pages of The Acorn.

1. Daredevil rider Wyatt Fontenot spins upside down on his electric motorcycle as he performs his famous “Superman” trick on closing night of the PRCA ProRodeo show last fall at the Ventura County Fair.

2. Jennie Wang of Oak Park High School heads to a first-place finish with a face full of water in the 100-yard breaststroke during an April swim meet with Royal and Moorpark high schools at Rancho Simi Community Park in Simi Valley.

3. One of the frenetic ICE operations of 2025 is captured on camera as Border Patrol agents use tear gas to break up a July 10 protest at a federal immigration raid on Glass House Farms, a Camarillo agricultural business.

4. Protesters attempt to block a truck laden with fire debris from entering the Calabasas Landfill on Feb. 15. The city, Los Angeles County and its sanitation district spent the year in court litigating the Calabasas claim that the debris from the January Palisades fire was toxic and shouldn’t have been allowed to be dumped at the landfill, located nears homes, a school and a park.
