The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
This signifies the ease of doing good deeds and the increase in Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

Surah Al-Iqra (Al-‘Alaq) ayahs 1-5 mark the first revelation to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Allah commands him to “Read!” in the name of the Creator, emphasizing knowledge and learning. These verses highlight that Allah created humans from a clot (‘Alaq) and bestowed the ability to learn through the pen. They stress that true knowledge comes from Allah, encouraging reflection and education. This passage establishes the significance of seeking knowledge and recognizing divine wisdom, laying the foundation for Islam’s emphasis on learning and intellectual growth.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Hijr (15:98-99)

Verse 98:
“So glorify the praises of your Lord and be among those who prostrate.”

Explanation:
Allah commands the Prophet ﷺ to engage in tasbih (glorification) and hamd (praise) of His Lord. This includes remembering Allah through dhikr, salah, and acts of worship. The phrase “be among those who prostrate” emphasizes the importance of salah, especially sujood, as a means of drawing closer to Allah. In difficult times, worship strengthens the heart.

Verse 99:
“And worship your Lord until certainty (death) comes to you.”

Explanation:
Allah instructs the Prophet ﷺ and believers to remain steadfast in worship until “yaqeen” (certainty), which refers to death. This means that worship is a lifelong commitment, and there is no pause in devotion to Allah. True success lies in continuous obedience, seeking closeness to Allah until the end of life.

Key Lessons:
• Consistent dhikr and salah bring spiritual strength.
• Worship is lifelong, not temporary.
• True certainty (yaqeen) is the realization of the Hereafter.

Sometimes, Allah allows you to experience the hardships of this world so that you can truly appreciate the sweetness of Iman (faith).

Allah’s mercy (Rahmah) is vast and encompasses all creation. He is Ar-Rahman (Most Merciful) and Ar-Raheem (Most Compassionate), showing mercy in both this life and the Hereafter. His mercy includes guidance, forgiveness, sustenance, and countless blessings. Even when we sin, His mercy allows for repentance. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah’s mercy surpasses His wrath” (Bukhari, Muslim). The greatest mercy is Jannah, promised to the believers. To receive His mercy, we must seek forgiveness, do good deeds, and show mercy to others.

Surah Hud (11:88) – From “وَمَا تَوْفِيقِى”

Translation:
“And my success is not but through Allah. Upon Him I have relied, and to Him I return.”

Explanation:
This ayah is the statement of Prophet Shu‘ayb (AS), emphasizing that all guidance and success come only from Allah. It highlights complete trust (tawakkul) in Him and the importance of turning to Him in all matters. True success is achieved by relying on Allah while putting in effort and sincerely seeking His help.

Here is the Tafseer (explanation) of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:152-153):

Ayah 152

Translation:
“So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not be ungrateful.”

Tafseer:
• Allah commands the believers to remember Him through worship, supplication, and obedience.
• In return, Allah promises to remember them with His mercy, help, and forgiveness.
• Gratitude (shukr) is emphasized as a core value of faith, which includes acknowledging Allah’s blessings and using them in a way that pleases Him.
• Ingratitude (kufr) in this context means neglecting Allah’s favors and being heedless in worship.

Ayah 153

Translation:
“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.”

Tafseer:
• Patience (Sabr) is a key to success, especially in hardships, tests, and obedience to Allah.
• Prayer (Salah) connects the believer with Allah, providing strength and guidance.
• “Allah is with the patient” means He grants them His support, mercy, and blessings.
• This ayah serves as a reminder that in difficulties, turning to Allah through prayer and perseverance brings divine assistance.

These verses encourage remembrance, gratitude, patience, and reliance on Allah, forming a foundation for a strong and resilient faith.

Surah Ash-Shura (verses 213–217) instructs Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to remain steadfast in monotheism and avoid polytheism. Allah commands him to convey the message without following the desires of the disbelievers. These verses emphasize that guidance comes only from Allah, while the Prophet’s role is to deliver the message. A warning is given to those who turn away, and the Prophet is instructed to warn his closest relatives. The passage concludes by affirming that Allah is the only protector and the ultimate place of return, urging complete reliance on Him.

As Muslims, we turn to Allah for everything we need. It is only a matter of time before He answers our du’a. Allah, in His infinite wisdom, knows whether what we ask for is beneficial or harmful for us. If it is harmful, He will bless us with something better in its place.

Surah At-Tawbah (9:129) reassures the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to rely solely on Allah if people reject his message. Allah commands him to say, “Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity but Him. I place my trust in Him, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.” This verse emphasizes complete trust (Tawakkul) in Allah, affirming His supreme power and authority. It teaches believers to remain steadfast and rely on Allah alone during hardships, knowing He controls all matters.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:155) highlights that Allah will test believers with fear, hunger, and losses in wealth, lives, and fruits to strengthen their faith. These trials remind us that life is temporary and meant to prepare us for the Hereafter. The verse assures glad tidings for those who remain patient (Sabr) during hardships, trusting in Allah’s wisdom and mercy. Patience is a key virtue, promising divine guidance, peace, and eternal rewards. Believers are encouraged to stay grateful in ease and steadfast in trials, knowing these challenges are part of Allah’s divine plan.
