🎶 Student Spotlight! 🎶

Say hello to Vivian, one of our newest students! She’s a hardworking and spunky trombone player in the Ellet High School band — and we’re thrilled to have her studying with our Music Education Director, Devin Nichols. 🎺

Vivian brings amazing energy to every lesson and practices alongside her brother, Russell, who’s holding it down on the drums. Talk about a powerhouse sibling duo! 🥁💪

🌼🐝 Our little honey bees have been hard at work, and we’re finally starting our own garden at the studio! It’s a space for parents and students to enjoy together — full of life, color, and community.

To keep the buzz going, we’re looking for donations of flowers, soil, pots, gloves, tools, and any other handy gardening gear you can spare. 🌱💛

If you have extras lying around, we’d love to put them to good use! Thank you for helping us grow something beautiful. 🌸

🎶 Meet Devin!🎶
Director of Music Education, and Brass Instructor at SCF

Devin here! Meet Devin! I'm a brass instructor, and "professional intern," helping out wherever needed.

I fell in love with music when I started playing the trombone in 5th grade. I've auditioned and played all over the Midwest, most recently playing professionally for Akron Big Band as one of their few trombones/euphoniums. Nowadays, I spend my time teaching and trying to learn as much as I can about music as an art and as an industry.

Why SCF?!: I contribute my time to SCF and AMP because I believe in their mission and I have formed what will be life long friendships with the people here. They have fully allowed me to explore my passions and offer guidance on my musical journey.

Fun fact: I’m on a mission to learn every instrument in a symphonic band, starting with the saxophone! In my free time, I’m also picking up the bass guitar—getting ready to lay down some sweet licks in a jam session 😎
