Every year Jumpstart Video Production Akron donates video production services to non-profit organizations serving the Akron area. These non-profit organizations use professionally produced video for public service announcements, community awareness, education and fundraising. In any given year Jumpstart Video typically donates more than $10,000 in video production services to non-profits and community organizations in the Akron area. The media team at Jumpstart Video is in the process of taking nominations and searching for a deserving organization doing great work in our community. Know of someone doing great work? Sarah and Journalist Shay talk about how Akron Public Schools are missing over 150 employees that they need for the school to run successfully. They mention how this makes students lives harder because the classrooms will be forced to be bigger, and makes teachers lives harder because they will have more students to teach in every class.

Under Ohio’s SAVE Students Act, House Bill 123, all public schools are required to:
• Train staff on su***de prevention, violence prevention, and student mental health.
• Maintain behavioral threat assessment teams to respond to potential risks.
• Provide anonymous reporting systems for students to alert staff about threats or safety concerns.

With so many vacancies, Akron schools may struggle to implement these legal requirements fully from staffing safety teams to providing mandatory training and supporting students in crisis….

The big beautiful bill is the funding part but not the requirement part.
