A year ago today, I joined my very first National Milo Marathon. I was so happy with my experience here. I was just new in running and almost finished my first 21K under 2 hours. It’s hard but definitely worth it!

It’s also in this moment that I realized I want to run longer distances. Hence, my running era officially began. 🙌

Simon Sinek explained it well why we are deeply offended when our leaders abandon us and worse, sacrifice us for their own selfish gains.

Anthropologically, we let the strongest of the pack to be our leaders. We let them have the best meat and mate. However, these perks and privileges come with a cost. When danger appears, we expect them to go at it in order to save and protect us.

Kaya okey lang sa atin na mas mataas ang sahod ng boss natin. Okey lang kung mas maraming benepisyo ‘yung mas mataas ang rank o posisyon sa atin. Kasi ‘di hamak na mas mabigat ang gampanin at responsibilidad nila.

“With a great gift, comes a great responsibility. But failure to perform this great responsibility, also comes a great consequence.”

Ito ang rason kung bakit tayo nagagalit sa kanila sa tuwing hindi nila ginagampanan ang trabaho nila at inu-una ang sarili nilang kapakanan. They have violated a deeply rooted social contract.

With all the power, perks, and privileges we gave and entrusted in them, sila dapat ang naglilingkod sa atin. Sila dapat ang nagsasakripisyo para sa atin. HINDI TAYO.
