What a privilege it’s been to work on this amazing event & award ceremony that honors local artists, art administrators, arts advocates & organizations in Summit County!

There’s nothing better than setting up the lights & cameras in studio to hear so many different stories & what inspires some of the most amazing artists and members in our community! Thanks so much for all the of the work you do to keep the arts alive in Akron!🎨🖼️

Check out this fantastic interview that Summit Artspace and Akron Recording Company did with current exhibiting artist Michael Marras a few weeks ago in his studio! We are so excited to showcase his solo exhibition, "The Bottom of Reality," to the community this Friday, April 11, during the opening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.!

Just an average day recording chains, fuses, explosions and micing up stairwells…..Whatever it takes to bring that special something to your next project!

Of course we could use samples or just add reverb in post, but the fun of recording is creating your own sounds, and who doesn’t love pretending to be a foley artist for a day. As pictured above:

1.2.3. - For a unique room sound when recording live drums we tossed our vintage .berlin KM84i in this old stairwell that shares a wall with our live room! It has a pretty cool sound in the mix, and adds some nice ambiance! The video above shows what it sounds like solo’d.

4.5.6. - adding some chain to one of their songs! The song is about metaphorical shackles in a relationship, so we found it fitting to bust out our trusty steel chain and add a bit of extra flavor on the bridge. The chain offered a nice higher frequency almost tambourine like effect, but we wanted a bit more body so we added a stomp in as well to further round out the sound!

7.8.9. - wanted to start their song off with a bang! So first we recorded a fuse and then a blast from a firework, one of the mortar shell type. We set up 3 different mics at various gain levels because we didn’t want our recording to clip but wasn’t sure just how loud the blast would be! The result is pretty cool! Don’t worry no people or mics were harmed in this recording session!

We love experimenting in sessions and finding fun creative ways to bring out your best sound, we believe that’s where the magic happens!

2025 has been off to the races! We’ve been staying busy during the deepest, darkest depths of winter with lots of great audio & video projects! ❄️

Last week ARC stayed busy over we got to visit the museum for 2 different video productions and had a lot of fun doing it! Here’s a couple behind the scenes pictures from our time at the AAM!

- Glow: Neon and Light was an exhibition that had been on display since late last year. This is one of the coolest shows we have ever seen or filmed! Some really unique work that focused on neon artists and their creations! If you missed it don’t worry ARC is working on a walkthrough video that will make you feel like you’re actually in the gallery!

- Midwinter Tunes Akron’s winter music & art festival. We love this event so much and look forward to it every year! In 2021 we were honored to produce the event virtually and recorded audio & video of 6 live bands in the galleries! The event always highlights some of Northeast Ohio’s best musical talent, art, vendors & more! ARC is working on a recap video to showcase the amazing time that was had in 2025 and ensure you won’t miss this fantastic event next year!

Last week the ARC team was at King Elementary School to film a music video for a kids song written by as a part of his residency

The song is a Hip-Hop version of the ABC’s, and features some of the students from the school on vocals. We worked with a class of kindergartners and first graders on Tuesday and they brought A LOT OF ENERGY!

ARC created a set in one of the classrooms, we wanted the video to feel like it was taking place in a dance club, so we set up lots of different fx lights, lasers, fog machines and a DJ booth! The set looked really great on camera and the students sang & danced to make it feel like an authentic dance club! We can’t to share what the final edit looks like, It was really fun working to pull this together and always a great experience to work with our communities youth! 🪩
